Twelfth Cake

12-03-2009

Thursday 12TH March

St. Gregory's Day is traditionally seen as an auspicious day to sow onions - 'Gregory-gret-onions'. Pope Gregory the Great (540-604) sent St. Augustine to convert the Anglo-Saxons to Christianity. He has no cake in his honour, so instead let's have Twelfth cake for the 12th day of the month.
