Lady's Day or the Feast of Annunciation celebrates Angel Gabriel's visitation to the Virgin Mary with the news of her immaculate conception. It is considered ominous for England when Lady's Day and Easter coincide. Queen Mary married Philip of Spain (1554) and Charles 1 was executed (1649) on this day.
