Caraway Cakes

A dialect word Wiggs can refers to a cake or bun. In Lincolnshire it describes an elongated bun of Caraway seeds. Caraway seeds were once a popular flavouring but have rather fallen out of favour. As a child, when my father was presented with Caraway Cake for the first time, he asked why the cake was dirty.
